Coffee dunkin cookies are great for adults and children!

This is a simple cookie but addictive. These coffee dunkin cookies are so good dunked in coffee or milk. They are kind of like a shortbread cookie and a great snack anytime. These cookies are no fuss and take no time to prepare. You can sprinkle the top with cinnamon/sugar or sprinkles for the holiday season. They are just as good plain. My family loves them with their coffee in the morning.

Coffee Dunkin Donuts

1/2 cup shortening (I use Crisco)

1/2 cup sugar

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon evaporated milk (could use regular milk)

2 cups all-purpose flour

3/4 teaspoon cream of tartar

3/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

Combine shortening, sugar, egg, vanilla extract and milk.  Mix well with mixer.  Add flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt and continue mixing until dough looks like large crumbs.  Make 1 inch balls and press down on sprayed cookie sheet with fork to flatten.  (Can sprinkle with colored sugar if making for Christmas)  Bake in preheated 400 degree oven until bottom and edges are brown, about 12 to 15 minutes.  Makes about 2 dozen cookies. Recipe can be doubled.  Enjoy!
