This is a yet another authentic Maharashtrian recipe. It is quick, easy and healthy recipe. This can be a good breakfast and also a lunch box option. So, let’s prepare gavhache ghavan.
Ingredients:
• 1 cup Wheat flour
• 1/2 tsp Garam masala
• 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp Red chili powder
• 1 tsp Coriander powder
• A pinch Ajwayan / Carom seeds
• 1/2 tsp finely chopped Green chilli
• Salt to taste
• Water
• 1 tsp Lemon juice
• Finely chopped Coriander leaves
• 1 tbsp Rava / Sooji

Method:
• In a bowl take wheat flour. Add garam masala, turmeric
powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, carom seeds, green
chillies and salt. Mix well.
• Add water and make batter. No lumps should be formed. The
consistency of the batter should be thin.
• You can add veggies of your choice (grated carrot, capsicum,
onion, tomato etc).
• Add lemon juice and coriander leaves. Mix well again.
• Give it a standing time of about 15 minutes. Add rava / sooji.
Stir well.
• Heat a pan on medium heat. Add oil and spread it over the pan
with the help of tissue paper.
• Spread the batter from side to centre on the pan.
• Cook for 5-6 minutes. When sides loosen up, flip over.
• The ghavan is nice brown in color. Cook for 4-5 minutes more.
• Flip over and check the color.
• Take out in a serving dish.
• This ghavan goes well with peanut chutney, tilachi chutney or
coconut chutney.
• You can have it as it is too.
